Recurrent miscarriage

Holding a pregnancy to term after repeated mid-pregnancy losses

  • Jordan
  • She was 30, her husband 33
  • Early cervical cerclage, progesterone support, close follow-up

Three previous spontaneous mid-trimester pregnancy losses were highly suggestive of cervical insufficiency.

A cervical cerclage was placed early in the pregnancy, with progesterone support, treatment of infections when clinically indicated, and very close antenatal follow-up with cervical and fetal assessment.

The pregnancy was successfully prolonged to 38 weeks, followed by the delivery of a healthy baby boy. They named him Zaid.
