Fibroids & saving the womb
Seventy-two fibroids, and a womb everyone else said to remove
She had been told, more than once, that the only option was a total hysterectomy: her uterus held seventy-two fibroids, and carrying a pregnancy was considered impossible. It is hard to imagine a heavier verdict for a woman who wants a child.
Dr. Layyous disagreed. In surgery, all seventy-two fibroids were removed and the uterus rebuilt and restored, followed by a full three-month recovery and treatment programme.
She then conceived — naturally — and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. A womb that others were ready to remove became the one that carried her daughter.
A baby girl — conceived naturally
