Fertility preserved before cancer treatment — later, a baby

A newly diagnosed cancer required treatment that could compromise her ovarian function and future fertility.

The clinic moved quickly: urgent fertility-preservation counselling and controlled ovarian stimulation before the cancer treatment began. Mature oocytes were retrieved and vitrified for future use. After her treatment was completed and she was medically cleared, she returned to pursue pregnancy.

Her frozen oocytes were successfully used in an IVF cycle — a healthy pregnancy, and the delivery of a baby girl.
