How patients from the Gulf and abroad plan IVF and gynaecology care with Dr. Najeeb Layyous in Amman: WhatsApp consultation, travel dates and your stay.

IVF and Fertility Treatment in Jordan for Patients from the Gulf and Abroad

Summary

Many couples travel to Amman from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq and further afield for IVF, ICSI and gynaecological care with Dr. Najeeb Layyous. Your first consultation can begin on WhatsApp before you book a flight. Dr. Layyous then plans your treatment around your travel dates, so that you spend in Amman only the days that truly need you to be here.

Why patients choose Amman and Dr. Layyous

·       Dr. Najeeb Layyous is a consultant in obstetrics, gynaecology, infertility and IVF (FRCOG, MRCOG, Jordanian Board) with 45 years of practice.

·       You are seen by Dr. Layyous himself at every step, from the first message to the embryo transfer.

·       Consultations are in Arabic or English, in a culture and setting familiar to families from the region.

·       In Dr. Layyous’s own IVF programme, the clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transfer is 71% for women aged 30 and under, 63% at 35 and under, 40% at 40 and over, and 53% overall. Every couple is different; these figures are a guide, not a promise.

·       Amman is a short direct flight from most Gulf capitals.

Step 1 — Start with a WhatsApp consultation

Send a message to the clinic on WhatsApp (+962 78 048 6388). To let Dr. Layyous study your case before you travel, please include:

·       The wife’s age and how long you have been trying to conceive.

·       A short medical history: previous pregnancies, miscarriages, operations, and any previous IUI, IVF or ICSI attempts with their results.

·       Recent test results, as clear photos or PDF files: hormone tests (AMH, FSH, LH, prolactin, TSH), ultrasound reports, a tube test (HSG) if done, and the husband’s semen analysis.

·       The medicines you take now.

·       The dates on which you could travel.

Dr. Layyous reviews your file and replies with his first opinion, any tests still needed, and a proposed plan. A WhatsApp consultation does not replace the examination and ultrasound in the clinic, but it means you arrive with a clear plan and no lost days.

Step 2 — Prepare at home

Most preparation can be done in your own city before you travel:

·       Any missing blood tests and the semen analysis can be done at a laboratory near you and sent by WhatsApp.

·       If Dr. Layyous advises treatment before IVF (for example for vitamin D, thyroid, weight or infection), you can complete it at home.

·       You receive a written list of the medicines and the dates on which to start them.

Step 3 — Matching your treatment to your travel dates

An IVF or ICSI cycle follows the menstrual cycle, so timing matters. Dr. Layyous sets the calendar with you in advance:

·       You tell the clinic the first day of your period and the dates you can travel.

·       If needed, the timing of your cycle can be adjusted with medication so that it fits your holiday or leave from work.

·       Ovarian stimulation usually lasts about 10 to 12 days, with ultrasound scans every few days. Depending on your case, stimulation may start in Amman, or begin at home with the scans sent to Dr. Layyous, and you then travel for the last days.

·       Egg retrieval is a short procedure under sedation; the husband gives his sample the same day.

·       Embryo transfer follows 3 to 5 days later. If a frozen transfer is planned instead, it can be scheduled for a later, shorter visit.

As a guide, many couples plan about two to three weeks in Amman for a full fresh cycle, or two shorter visits when embryos are frozen. Dr. Layyous will confirm the exact dates for your case before you book.

Step 4 — Your stay in Amman

·       Arrival: Queen Alia International Airport, Amman. Please check the entry requirements for your nationality before you travel.

·       The clinic: Outpatient Clinics Building, Jabal Al Hussein, next to Amal Maternity Hospital, Amman.

·       Hours: Saturday and Monday to Thursday 9:00–16:00; Sunday 9:00–13:00; closed on Friday.

·       Bring: passports, original medical reports and scans, the medicines you are using, and your marriage certificate.

·       Between visits you are free to rest and enjoy the city; normal light activity is fine during treatment.

Step 5 — After you return home

·       You travel home with a written report, your medication plan and the date of your pregnancy test.

·       You send the result of the pregnancy test by WhatsApp, and Dr. Layyous advises the next steps.

·       Your pregnancy can then be followed by your own doctor at home, using the report from the clinic. Dr. Layyous remains available on WhatsApp for questions.

Other treatments for visiting patients

The same approach — review on WhatsApp first, then a planned visit — applies to laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, treatment of fibroids and endometriosis, recurrent miscarriage assessment, egg freezing and 3D/4D ultrasound.

Frequently asked questions

Can everything be decided on WhatsApp?

No. WhatsApp is for the first review and planning. The final plan is confirmed after Dr. Layyous examines you in the clinic.

How far in advance should we contact the clinic?

Ideally four to six weeks before you wish to travel, so tests and cycle timing can be arranged calmly.

Do both partners need to stay the whole time?

The wife is needed throughout stimulation, retrieval and transfer. The husband is needed on the day of egg retrieval, unless a frozen sample has been arranged beforehand.

Is it safe to fly after embryo transfer?

Flying does not reduce the chance of pregnancy. Dr. Layyous will tell you when you may travel after your transfer.

The finest doctor in Jordan — may God bless him and his whole medical team. A doctor in every sense of the word. I advise anyone planning a pregnancy to visit Dr. Najeeb Layyous. His manner is wonderful, always smiling, with the highest ethics; he gives every patient her due, and the patient’s comfort matters most to him. We had been to many doctors and none understood and treated my case except him. Special thanks to him and the whole team, and to Dina in particular — a lovely person. I recommend anyone considering IVF or pregnancy to visit his clinic.
